ANDREAS.

Some info about me and my show... hmmmm, not very spectacular, that's how everything started:

I was never a professional DJ, but music was always very important for me. Born in the 60's I grew up in the disco area and I am still in love with the music from the 70's and 80's (that's why I play many retro remixes...). I delivered the music on many private parties in the past but never for clubs.

A few years ago I started to work on mix sets and found a website called "mix upload", the largest DJ network/DJ community where DJ's can upload sets to promote themselves and where dance music lovers from all over the world listen and vote for them. I thought it would be interesting to give it a try and check what people think about my sets and was surprised about the great feedback I got - one set I made is the still No.1 in the all time vocal house category. Besides of the mixing people enjoyed the style of music I used - uplifting funky/vocal/disco house.

Some owners of internet radio stations listened to my sets on mix upload and asked if they can use them for their stations that are why I had the idea to create my own radio show. Because of the uplifting style of music I like to spin I thought it would be a good idea to do a show to prepare people for a party weekend, the "Weekend Warm up Show" was born. I was lucky to find help from a professional voiceover artist, the "Announcer Guy" Mark Fraser from Canada who made most of the funny voices for the show.

In August 2007 two internet stations started to broadcast the show, today two fm stations from Belgium and Iceland, 11 internet radio stations - and now Energy FM from Malta - are enjoying good time dance music every weekend and the reactions from listeners are great. I also got some attention from the music industry, record companies like the famous "Strictly Rhythms" or "division" are delivering promo tracks for the show and I also get some support from artists like Motto Blanco, The Bass monkeys, Morjac or Sunfreakz.

I also work on regularly guest mixes for the "Lover Fever" show on Time 107,5 in London and got an invitation to do a guest mix for the "Audio freaks Sessions" by Matt & Warren Meyers aka Soul shaker on Ministry Of Sounds Radio as well as on Energy 92,7 Arizona/USA.

Hope Malta will enjoy the kick start into the weekend - it's part-time! :-)

Thanks again!
Andreas
